Engineering Technician
January
7, 2007 Full Time
A highly
motivated engineering technician is sought to contribute to the development of
an innovative, new, advanced ceramic component for the US Department of
Defense. The successful candidate
will join a small team focused on the process development of advanced ceramic
materials for a well-defined application.
The
position requires an ability to carry out tasks from sample preparation and
laboratory experiments, through the evaluation and reporting of results.
Specific responsibilities include:
·
Maintain
a clean, organized, and safe environment.
·
Record
technical data and observations neatly and accurately in a notebook.
·
Monitor
laboratory supplies and equipment, and communicate with supervisor regarding
supply inventory and equipment repair / maintenance needs.
·
Working
knowledge of safety, quality systems, and quality assurance concepts is a
plus.
Our
work environment is friendly and respectful.
Dress is casual. All
employees are required to sign an employment agreement.
Since we perform government funded R&D, all employees must fill-out
and sign a daily time sheet. This
is a non-smoking facility. Smoking
is not allowed anywhere on the property.
Highly
Desirable Qualifications:

“Hands-on”
bench top laboratory and /or ceramics powder processing experience
·
Mechanical
aptitude and ability to set-up / trouble-shoot / modify / repair equipment
Necessary
Qualifications:
·
High
School Diploma or above, with practical work experience depending on education
level. Proficient computer
skills.
·
Ability
to work independently, efficiently, and to multitask in a fast-paced team
environment; attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
·
Excellent
observation and data recording skills with understanding of equipment and
testing / experimental procedures.
·
A safe
working record in a laboratory or manufacturing environment.
·
Good
interpersonal, organizational, problem solving and communication skills
